Jeremy D. Swanson, Esq.

Jeremy is a founding partner in the firm of Swanson O’Dell. His life and work span many facets of the artistic and legal community. He has been in practice since 2002, and on January 1, 2021, Jeremy became a certified Family Law Specialist, certified by the State Bar of California. He is our firm’s lead family law attorney and is a results-driven attorney with more than eighteen years of settlement and litigation experience in complex, high-conflict family law cases.
 
He also provides a strong courtroom presence across Kern County. Jeremy has a broad background in litigation; he has practiced family, civil, and probate law. His practice is now focused on all aspects of family law as well as related property law issues, such as partition and quiet title matters.
 
He regularly writes and blogs about family law topics which are shared throughout the state and can be found at swansonodell.com/blog/. Jeremy was also the Kern County Bar Association Family Law Section’s President for the years 2018 and 2019 and is a current board member.

Out of the office and courtroom, Jeremy is a family man with outdoor interests. As an outdoor enthusiast, he prefers to spend his downtime in the mountains or at the coast. He believes in the quality of community and stays active in the local music scene after playing for the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra for more than 15 years before retiring from that organization.

Jeremy is an active member and Past President of the Bakersfield Twilight Rotary Club and is involved in charitable local and international projects, including fundraising for the projects of the Twilight Charitable Foundation, and with Rotary District 5240.

Seth N. O’Dell

Seth N. O’Dell, Esq.

Seth O’Dell began his career as a Deputy District Attorney. He worked over four years in the Kern County District Attorney’s office. He is a member of Consumer Attorneys of California, a Past President of the Kern County Bar Association, and current Board Member of the Kern County Bar Association’s Charitable Foundation.

His experience includes trying over 70 jury trials to verdict. It also includes extensive civil litigation experience, with a focus on Personal Injury matters.
